In addition to replacing an eye that has been removed, Erickson's also creates prostheses for situations where a non-functioning eye, or a remnant of it, is still in place:
- The prosthetic shell: a very thin shell that fits over the cornea (iris/pupil area) and the sclera (white) of a
disfigured eye or the remnant of an eye
- The prosthetic lens: a small disc that fits over the cornea only, when the cornea is disfigured
We, at Erickson’s, devote the same care and attention to fit, comfort, and the most natural appearance possible when fashioning a custom shell, or lens, as we do when creating the entire artificial eye.
